Dr. Paolina Centonze received her Ph.D. in Mathematics and M.S. degree in Computer Science from New York University in 2008 and 2005, respectively, and her Bachelor of Science degree Summa Cum Laude from St. John’s University, New York in 2003.

She is a subject matter expert with strong communication skills and 20 years of industry and academic experience in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and mobile computing.

She has been a Tenured Professor and the Managing Director of the renowned Cybersecurity Program at IONA University, New Rochelle, New York since 2011. Formerly, she was a Research Staff Member in the Department of Cybersecurity at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, New York, where she worked for five years.

In her course of her career, she has been a strategist and influencer for large projects, and a dynamic and collaborative leader, recognized for designing and implementing innovative programs, inspiring teams, and communicating complex concepts with clarity and precision.

She is the inventor of 14 patents, granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office, and the author of 24 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles and scholarly conference papers in the areas of cybersecurity, mobile security, static code analysis, dynamic testing, malware detection, optimization, cloud computing, and big data. She designed five novel cybersecurity and optimization solutions, integrated in the IBM Security AppScan Source Edition product. Dr. Centonze received 32 industry and academic awards.
